Maliciously talkative coworker finally gets payback for her actions: ‘Lunch break she's pacing round the building on her phone, talking, or sitting in her car, talking. But yesterday. yesterday she finally got what she deserved’

  • two woman whispering secrets
  • Love it when the talkative one in my company finally shut her mouth for once

At my workplace there's this woman who is SO talkative, and most of the time it's petty and honestly kind of malicious.
  • She works in accounts but she loves going round to other departments (sales, marketing, customer service, all separate rooms) just to talk sh about other people in the
  • company, or yap on about every trivial thing in her life like her husband, her daughter, her dog, her car, her neighbour, the cashier she met at the shop over the weekend.... as if
  • everyone needs to know what's going on in her life. She dramatises a lot too. one time we had a difficult customer who got loud in the shop, and when she came to tell us about it (yeah she HAD to tell us)
  • she made it sound like he was getting physical, like reaching over the counter to grab paperwork or whatever. I checked the CCTV after and none of that happened, I couldn't hear audio over CCTV
  • footage so don't know how loud he was but definitely he wans't getting physical at all. So either she's making stuff up to make her stories more interesting, or she's just that dramatic and
  • everything is a crisis in her head. That's when i decided i'm done listening to her crop. I don't mind a bit of chit chat in the work place, it makes the day more bearable. But i started
  • noticing how bad it actually was about 4 months in. She comes into our office/room at least once a day, minimum 15- 20 mins of nonstop yapping. Not even exaggerating, not always
  • but very often she starts talking before she's fully through the door. And loads of times she gets a few words into a sentence, realises her "audience" isn't even in the room, stops mid sentence and
  • goes "oh is [Andy] not here?" and i'm like "yeah he stepped out a few mins ago" and she just walks off. Last year there was like a 3-4 week period where she had beef with some
  • guy from another dept who just sat near her team in the open area. So she'd go to other departments, yes including us, talking sh about him. What he was wearing that day, how stupid he sounded training his team, his choice of
  • words when speaking to customers, how much she hated the way he talked. every.single.day. Like how can you be so petty to spend your day noticing that many petty little details about someone just to talk sh about them to
  • as many people as you can? Sometimes a girl working in one of our other shops come to deliver some stuff and this talkative woman would come to us (and other departments too of
  • course) talking sh about how that girl shouldn't be wearing jeans or skirt to work or that her perfume is too strong.. She's also just never not talking. i'll walk into what i think is an empty meeting
  • room or the kitchen and she's in there talking in a low voice with someone, obviously talking sh about someone else, cause why else would you drop your voice instead of just talking normal at your desk. Lunch break she's
  • pacing round the building on her phone, talking, or sitting in her car, talking. But yesterday. yesterday she finally got what she deserved. she was talking sh about a colleague and didn't realise he was
  • standing right there making his tea, heard the whole thing. So she had to go apologise. And after that i swear to god she STILL came into our office looking for sympathy. "did you hear, i was talking sh about [Brian] and he heard
  • it all, i had to go apologise" and her "audience" just went "ah it's alright, happens to everyone, you're just having a bad day" I am so happy right now, which makes me feel a
  • a woman taking her hands to her head
  • little bad, like if I'm spending this much time thinking and writing about it probably makes me just as petty as her lol
  • man talking his hands to his head
  • Southern Zorro Don't give her any more of your precious time or attention. Ignore and actively avoid her as much as you can.
  • Katastrophiser Anytime she starts talking about another co-worker around you, look over her shoulder and say "oh hi coworker" and watch the yapper shrivel into pieces. Will it stop her from talking? No, but it will be funny as h_l.
